We are hiring immediately for a full-time LEAD, PATIENT TRANSPORTER
position.
Location: Ascension St. Vincent - Indianapolis- 2001 West 86th
Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260 Note: online applications accepted

Schedule: Full-time schedule. Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm or
11:00pm - 7:30am. Plus every other weekend and major holiday. More
details upon interview.
Requirement: No experience necessary. Willing to train!
Starting Pay: $16.50 per hour

Job Summary
Summary: Responsible for the safe, timely and accurate transport of
patients, medical equipment and patient-related items to their
destinations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Directs daily work of other patient transporters and reports
inadequate performance to Supervisor.
Trains new and existing employees; updates personnel files. Follows
up on complaints and reports them to the Supervisor.
Evaluates work requirements and assignments; ensures efficient use
of employees and distribution of work load.
Demonstrates competency in transporting all specific
age-groups.
Ensures the safe, timely and accurate transport of patients to
their destination; brings the proper requested equipment.
Communicates effectively with nursing personnel, clinicians,
technicians, or reception and dispatch.
Ensures patient comfort by being attentive; offers blankets, checks
modesty and only engages in appropriate conversation involving
patients. Never transports patients in severe pain.
Immediately alerts nursing staff to any signs of patient distress
or equipment malfunction.
Maintains equipment and reports equipment needing repairs.
Complies with regulator agency standards, including federal, state
and JCAHO.
Adheres to facility confidentiality and patients--? rights policy
as outlined in the facility's HIPPA policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
