First Databank (FDB) is currently seeking an Advanced Software Engineer in the Software Development department. The Advanced Software Engineer plays a critical role in the delivery of high quality products to the healthcare industry. A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate all essential functions to effectively design and construct modern software systems utilizing diverse technology sets while working within and across cross functional and geographically dispersed teams.

This position will be based out of the Indianapolis, IN office.

Responsibilities:

* Responsible for the development, maintenance and integration of application software, and tier II support
* Codes, defines criteria, performs testing, debugging, and documents software functionality
* Understands and utilizes the methodologies, policies and procedures to support the use of inheriting objects and modifying base components to maximize development time and consistency
* Diagnoses and isolates application software problems; formulates and implements effective solutions considering system capacity, limitations, time requirements, and desired results in order to resolve system problems and prevent recurrence
* Estimates amount of work effort required to complete tasks
* Works closely with team members to understand IT business requirements that drive the analysis and design of technical solutions that are in compliance with architectural blueprints and business strategies
* Knowledge of software development life cycles and the activities that occur within life-cycles
* Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

* Agile Development Methods
* Web Services Development
* Web Application Development
* Java JDK
* Major Relational Database Development / Management
* Microsoft Visual Studio
* SQL Server Enterprise Tools
* IntelliJ or other Java Development Tools

Preferred Skills:

* VERY Strong Java development
* Experience with Spring
* Experience with Maven and/or Gradle
* Strong written and verbal communication
* Works well to collaborate with others within teams
* Experience in Healthcare IT preferred

Required Experience:

* BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
* 2+ years of Software Development work experience
