**Materials Planning Supervisor**
Materials is a key part of our business. Reporting to the Material
Control Manager, the Material Planning Supervisor supervises
material planning and scheduling staff as assigned and oversees
standards to ensure compliance. Ensures customer needs are met
while maintaining efficiencies. Maintains an orderly and organized
work area to facilitate efficient processes. Implements
countermeasures when breakdowns occur. Monitors, corrects, and
performs employee time and payroll. Engages in mentoring and cross
training opportunities and provides input on performance
evaluations. Analyzes and resolves service discrepancies, oversees
accurate documentation of concern areas and tracks trends, and
ensures monthly reporting is provided in a timely manner.
**What You Will Do:**
+ Monitor the working environment to ensure that company safety
policies and health and safety regulations are complied with and to
provide a safe and healthy working environment.
+ Supervise shift personnel to ensure that they carry out their
responsibilities within safety rules and regulations and to the
required quality standards.
+ Oversee the plant production scheduling and buying processes and
evaluates master plans
+ Identify, develop, implement, and document continuous
improvements centered around product planning and buying using
industry wide best standard practices
+ Responsible for metric reporting and analysis against
predetermined goals
+ Drive accuracy of data feeding to scheduling and purchasing
tools; system data, transactional data, standard, and demonstrated
throughputs
+ Create and develop cross functional working relationships with
key stakeholders, plant management, production management and
general production staff
+ Implement and manage individual professional development plans
for team members
+ Assist in the development and manage team and individual
goals
**What You Need to Succeed:**
+ Maintain product knowledge in terms of options, substitutions,
critical functions/components, etc.
+ Understand material specifications in terms of substitutions,
quality, engineering requirements, etc.
+ Maintain basic knowledge of supplier processes and
capabilities.
+ Must possess a strong customer service orientation and must
provide dedicated support of internal and external customer
requirements.
+ Must be a strong written and verbal communicator, able to
communicate to various audiences effectively.
+ Team oriented, must have the ability to work cohesively with
others.
+ Must be able to work well with external suppliers.
+ Must possess ability to work well in a manufacturing
environment.
+ Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated, able to work with
minimal supervision.
+ Must be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked
environment.
**Experience and Skills Required:**
+ BA/BS degree or 3+ years minimum scheduling/buyer manufacturing
experience.
+ APICS (CPIM) or equivalent certification preferred.
+ Considerable knowledge of industry related supply base.
+ Skilled in production and supplier scheduling.
+ Knowledgeable of supplier processes and capabilities.
+ Able to provide direction and training to peers as needed.
+ Computer proficient with ERP and Microsoft Office
applications
+ Basic mathematical skills
+ Experience in operations, inventory management, MRP and lean
manufacturing processes.
+ Experience with visual management systems.
