Job Description:
Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis.
Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating a learning environment
that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing
effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common
syllabi provided.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in
accordance with College policy and course objectives.
- Make optimal use of available technology to enhance
instructional methods.
- Supplement and alter, where appropriate, lesson plans,
assignments, tests, and materials. Maintain accurate student
records, grades, and other requirements.
- Engage with students proactively and regularly in meaningful
and productive ways that impact student learning and lead to a
positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.
- Demonstrate evidence of developing and implementing teaching
strategies focused on engaging online students with their
learning.
- Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and
cooperative manner, complying with College policies, guidelines and
expectations.
- Maintain a safe, quality online educational environment.
- Must demonstrate the ability to promote an inclusive
environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds
represented by our students and employees in which every individual
feels respected and valued.This is not to be construed as an
exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with this
position may be assigned. All responsibilities will be conducted
within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy
Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and
professional standards.SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Department/Program
ChairSUPERVISION GIVEN: NoneEntrepreneurship Program Standard: A
qualified faculty member in the Entrepreneur Program meets the
program standard with a minimum of three documented years of
entrepreneurial (one who organizes, manages, and assumes the risk
of a business or enterprise - provide Articles of Incorporation)
and/or intrapreneurial (an individual who develops new enterprises
within the corporation - provide resume with details) experience,
completion of the initial RISE training, and meets one of the
following:1. Possesses an earned master's degree or higher from a
regionally accredited institution in entrepreneurship, business
administration, management, marketing, or a business-related field
as appropriate to the program; or 2. Possesses an earned related or
out-of-field master's degree, from a regionally accredited
institution, with documented 18 semester hours or equivalent of
courses beyond the introductory principle(s) level in
entrepreneurship, business administration, management, marketing,
or a business-administration-related field as appropriate to the
program; or 3. Possesses an earned related or out-of-field master's
degree, from a regionally accredited institution, with
documentation in two or more of the following:
- a. Professional, field related certification (national,
regional, or state)
- b. Two or more additional documented years of entrepreneurial
and/or intrapreneurial experience;
- c. Documentation of research and publication in the field;
or
- d. Documented relevant additional coursework beyond the
bachelor's degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent
subject matter coursework, CEU's, vendor, or military;or 4.
Possesses an earned bachelor's degree, from a regionally accredited
institution, in entrepreneurship, business administration,
management, marketing, or a business- administration-related field
as appropriate to the program, with documentation in one of the
following:
- a. Professional, field related certification (national,
regional, or state)
- b. Two or more additional documented years of entrepreneurial
and/or intrapreneurial experience;
- c. Documentation of research and publication in the field;
or
- d. Documented relevant additional coursework beyond the
bachelor's degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent
subject matter coursework, CEU's, vendor, or military.Important
Note: RISE training is one week in-person training and considered
the last step of the credentialing process. This will be set up by
Ivy Tech Community College if not already completed prior to
hiring.STARTING SALARY RANGE: $45/contact hourCLASSIFICATION:
