Job Description:

The PositionKEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure effective communication, implementation and adherence of Security programs, policies, procedures, and regulations in a calm, engaging and professional manner.
  • May respond to calls for security services and conduct or assist with investigations, as requested or directed.
  • May be called upon to aid police and emergency management officials with enforcement of federal, state, or local laws.
  • Responsible for training new employees on security systems policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Manages access control devices, Visitor management system, video management systems, all campus alarm and security systems and steel key inventory.
  • Make recommendations regarding new security technology, policy, programs, procedures and infrastructure enhancements.
  • Ability to execute independently installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools for Video management systems and Access Control including backup and redundancy capabilities. Escalate as necessary.
  • Responsible to address immediate issues and proactively ensure the highest levels of the Security Systems
  • Assists in managing all requests for system impairments throughout the campus.
  • Perform health checks on core security systems applications
  • Responsible to monitor, program and test all hardware/software installation or decommissioning as required Video surveillance and Access Control and any other security systems while maintaining exceptional quality assurance
  • Address system access issues and changes in a timely manner to assure solution and component escalations are minimal, including routine or necessary system upgrades.
  • Ability to provide data and access reports to other departments.
  • Provide information to support investigations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to complete projects, tickets and upgrades
  • On Call - Be ready to provide support after hours if needed, especially if there is an emergency on site. This will be directed by the Indianapolis Site Security Director/Manager.
  • May be located at a designated entry point to provide support to employees and visitors to Roche, prevent access of unauthorized individuals and maintain and update visitor logs.
  • Assists Security Manager with the physical security systems by providing oversight to contracted suppliers and a consistent auditing, gap analysis, review and general awareness of the status of the hardware, software, maintenance, any assigned technician, supplies, and equipment relative to said systems.
  • Represents Security/RDO within the Roche Data Privacy Network
  • Assists in security auditing functions, mass communication software (for multiple Roche sites) and Emergency Response Plan review and may contribute to and perform administrative tasks associated with periodic review of operating procedures and policies relative to security systems
  • Assists with the management of greeting, screening, and directing employees and visitors, determine accessibility, maintain visitor log, and validate identification.
  • Provide Aid in Emergency situations when appropriate
  • Assists with and represents security interest with Roche Information Technology groups
  • Successful completion of Roche specific site training and continual training compliance.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals of the organization.
  • Demonstrate professional conduct when communicating with peers, customers and supervisorRequirements:
    • 5+ year's proficiency in design, pricing and implementation of all types of integrated security systems projects
    • Excellent verbal and written communications.
    • Ability to handle emergency situations.
    • Ability to read and understand floor plans, diagrams, and system schematics.
    • Ability to understand basic operations and design of low voltage alarm, CCTV, and other security systems.
    • Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor.
    • An understanding of Computer-Aided Dispatch system software
    • Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing and including the ability to effectively present proposed plans and results to management.
    • Exceptional teamwork and collaboration skills are essential to facilitate the work of cross-functional and interdepartmental teams.
    • Must be dependable, attention to details, and proficient in coordinating tasks.
    • Can work independently on assigned projects and tasks
    • React to critical situations calmly and preparedPreferred Requirements:
      • BS Preferred
      • Experience with Video Management System applications
      • Basic understanding of Networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS)
      • Experience with Windows Operating Systems
      • Experience with Database Management Systems
      • Familiarity with Google Suite
