SummaryDepartment-Specific Responsibilities
- Provides the vision, leadership, and strategic planning in
directing and supervising all activities related to recreational
programming for students, faculty, and staff within the IUPUI
Campus Recreation unit in the areas of intramural, club sport, and
informal recreation.
- Directs program marketing, and supervision of student employees
working in these areas.
- Interfaces directly with students and collaborates with staff
in own department and other departments on shared student service
goals at IU Indianapolis.General Responsibilities
- Evaluates recreation areas, equipment, facilities, and services
to determine if they are producing desired results.
- Designs, implements, evaluates, and expands recreational
programming.
- Supervises and coordinates the work activities of employees,
such as training and assigning work duties.
- Ensures compliance by adhering to the established risk
management plan, monitoring and verifying certifications and
training, and conducting inspections of facilities and
equipment.QualificationsEDUCATIONRequired
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Recreation, Sports
Management, or related field. Preferred
- Master's degree in Exercise Science, Recreation, Sports
Management, or related field. WORK EXPERIENCEPreferred
- Related experience with structured recreational programming.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATESRequired
- CPR/AED within 180 days from date of hire.
- Standard First Aid within 180 days from date of hire.
- Preventing Disease Transmission/Universal Precautions within
180 days from date of hire. SKILLSRequired
- Proficient communication skills.
- Maintains a high degree of professionalism.
- Demonstrated time management and priority setting skills.
- Demonstrates a high commitment to quality.
- Possesses flexibility to work in a fast paced, dynamic

Conditions / DemandsThis position requires both sedentary work and
long durations of movement about the workspace. It requires the
ability to move and transport objects and equipment weighing up to
25 pounds. The person in this role must be able to perform the

LocationIndianapolis, IndianaAdvertised Salary$35,568.00 -
