Job Description:

Responsibilities:Verify all measuring devices and inspection equipment are calibrated and due dates are not expired.Maintain records of tool and equipment condition and location at all times.Maintain calibration records for all measuring equipment and devices and calibrate periodically to keep calibrations current.Use precision measuring instruments, surface tables, coordinate measuring machines, gear checkers, and other testing and measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, height gauges, etc. to inspect work and material quality of gears, housing, shafts, enclosed drive units, etc. to very close tolerance requirements. May be required to inspect commercial hardware, subcontracted or other outside machining, plating, gear box run test inspection, magnetic particle, dye penetrant, etc.Depending on product, inspection includes receiving, in-process, first article and final inspection.Monitor quality of own work to assure adherence to quality standards and prepare detailed inspection reports as required, document non-conformances.Maintain required time, production and quality recordsDetermine and report any inefficiencies, defective materials, unusual conditions and machining issuesAdhere to all safety guidelines and procedures
Requirements:High School diploma or equivalent required3+ years of experience in similar capacity preferredUse and interpret precision measuring instrumentsCertifications; internal as determined by management in accordance with quality requirementsShop MathMust focus mental and visual attention closelyCharacter of duties requires mental, visual and manual coordinationAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications requiredConsiderable judgment required to interpret drawings, operation sheets, and complex work requirements.Analytical and problem-solving skills requiredRequires ability to perceive, plan, and execute a complex course of action.Visual AcuityCheck accuracy of work using precision measuring instrumentsStrong attention to detail and accuracyTeamwork and communication skillsMust be authorized to work in the US Required
