Save Duties Summary This position is located in the Risk Management Agency, Deputy Administrator for Compliance, Midwest Regional Compliance Office, in Indianapolis and Marion, Indiana. Responsibilities Conducts onsite investigations to assess crop insurance program compliance. Performs investigations to substantiate alleged or suspected instances or patterns of noncompliance. Participates in negotiations with persons whose activities have been found to be at odds with agency guidelines Conducts analysis of reports required of individuals and reinsured companies engaged in crop insurance activities to assess their compliance with mandatory guidelines. Explains and promotes the regulatory/compliance program to those whose activities are subject to it, as well as to the general public. Travel Required Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position. To learn more about E-Verify, including your rights and responsibilities, visit E-Verify at ************************* Qualifications Applicants must meet all qualification requirements by 11:59 p.m. EST on the closing date including time-in-grade restrictions and experience as defined below: You may start at the GS-12 level if you have the following qualifications: One full-time year (12-months) of specialized work experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-11 level in the Federal service (or private sector equivalent). Specialized experience may be credited for work performed independently performing complex investigative assignments for government subsidized agricultural insurance or reinsurance programs, sufficient to perform planning, conducting and reporting of compliance reviews and investigations. Education THE SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION IS NOT QUALIFYING FOR THE GS-12 LEVEL. College Transcript: If you are qualifying based on education, submit a copy of your college transcript that lists college courses detailing each course by the number and department (i.e., bio 101, math 210, etc.), course title, number of credit hours and grade earned. You must submit with your application package evidence that any education completed in a foreign institution was appropriately accredited by an accredited body recognized by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education as equivalent to U.S. Education standards. Category placement will be determined based on applicants' quality of experience and the extent they possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA) or competencies: Knowledge of compliance review or investigative concepts and practices. Knowledge of complexity, diversity, and seasonal nature of agriculture and agricultural practices. Ability to communicate in writing. Ability to present findings, ideas and recommendations. Ability to communicate orally. Ability to analyze, research and evaluate information.
