What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal HealthWarehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers.AccountabilitiesManages warehouse management activities in a Nuclear Manufacturing environment, and ensures compliance with Manufacturing and Quality Management policies and proceduresDirects and controls receipt, storage, issuance, and return of materials of both commercial and non-commercial. This may include investigating and resolving discrepant shipments, invoice discrepancies, and performing corrective actionsInteracts with Plant Director, Managers, and peers at other stations, to ensure implementation of warehousing and inventory strategiesInvestigates and resolves inventory discrepanciesIn the absence of the Warehouse Manager, provides onsite direction and interaction with department management on Warehouse Management issuesInteracts with department personnel to improve customer service and resolve any issuesAssesses training levels, develops training, and performs training in materials management methodologies and processesPerforms required work observations, self-assessments, and quarterly detailed inspections of warehouse facilities, to ensure adherence to proceduresInteracts with internal and auditors on all regulatory issuesPerforms general supervisory duties, including procedure development, work schedule development, budget preparation, and goal development.QualificationsHigh school diploma, GED or equivalent or equivalent work experience, preferred. Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.1-2 years related pharmaceutical warehousing experience strongly preferredPast experience with CGMP and GDP strongly preferredAbility to lift up to 50 lbsBasic knowledge of Microsoft OfficeWill obtain DOT (Department of Transportation) and IATA (International Air Transport Association) certification within 3 months of hireForklift experience preferredStrong communication skillsA Covid-19 vaccination is required in order to be employed in this position. This includes either:2 doses of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine1 dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccineIn-depth knowledge of nuclear warehousing procedures and methodologies.Full knowledge of computer applications and systems (i.e. SAP, Word, and Excel).General knowledge of Warehouse Management roles, objectives, and best practices.Knowledge of budgeting and planning process.Leadership skills.Ability to manage resources, including overtime.Verbal and written communication skills.Computer operations skills.Planning and organization skills.Ability to assimilate and integrate information for effective independent decision making.Ability to identify and develop strategic and long-term goals and objectives.Ability to work effectively with employees and external personnel.Ability to apply good business judgment.Ability to manage multiple priorities.What is expected of you and others at this levelCoordinates and supervises the daily activities of operations, or business support staffAdministers and executes policies and proceduresEnsures employees operate within guidelinesDecisions have a direct impact on work unit operations and customersFrequently interacts with subordinates, customers and peer groups at various management levelsInteractions normally involve information exchange and basic problem resolutionYour safety is our top priority.
