Transportation Finance Specialist you will: Promotes and provides
direction on policy guidance for the financial management of the
FHWA/State highway programs. Promotes teamwork and the exchange of
ideas between FHWA and State and local governments in the conduct
of the Financial Integrity Review and Evaluation (FIRE) program.
Works with the Transportation Finance Manager to plan and conduct
financial management system reviews and evaluations of the State
DOT and local governments. Assists the Transportation Finance
Manager in the approval of reimbursement claims, project agreement
modifications, advance construction conversions, and conducting the
final review and approval of final project claims. Reviews and
evaluates reports of reported and/or alleged noncompliance in areas
identified through Federal, FHWA, and State DOT internal audits and
reviews. The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced
and highly motivated person looking to expand their knowledge and
experience in governmental finance, budgets, and information

qualifications for this position, you must meet either the
education or specialized experience requirements for the grade at
which you are requesting consideration. To qualify for the GS-09 on
Experience, you must have at least one year of experience equal or
equivalent to the GS-07 it must include: Experience applying
principles, concepts, and practices related to financial programs.
To qualify for the GS-09 on Education alone, you must have: 2 years
of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a
master's degree or have been awarded a master's or equivalent
graduate degree. You can also qualify based on a combination of
graduate education and experience. This must be fully supported by
your resume and transcripts, provided with your application.To
qualify for the GS-11 on Experience, you must have at least one
year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-09 it must
include: Experience organizing, analyzing and interpreting
numerical or financial data. Experience interpreting basic laws,
regulations, policies, procedures, guidelines, and other technical
material related to financial programs. To qualify for the GS-11 on
Education alone, you must have: 3 years of progressively higher
level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or
equivalent doctoral degree. You can also qualify based on a
combination of higher level graduate education and experience. This
