Every employee contributes to the success of the company and you can be part of that team.PURPOSEPerform advanced laboratory techniques related to viral vector production and analytics. Basic laboratory techniques include preparing solutions, media, molecular biology techniques, aseptic cell culture techniques and general laboratory maintenance. The position requires working independently, but also under the supervision of experienced lab personnel in process development.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Perform hands on laboratory procedures related to viral vector downstream processes including clarification, Ultrafiltration/Diafiltration (e.g., Tangential Flow Filtration), Chromatography, and Sterile filtration
  • Operate chromatography systems, such as AKTAs
  • Perform Design of Experiments (DoE) and utilize statistical analysis software
  • Maintain appropriate documentation of processing activities
  • Perform routine lab maintenance and maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Assist in the development of general and technical SOPs and with the creation of study specific procedures
  • Train new lab staff on Genezen processes
  • Comply with all established policies and SOPs
  • Participate actively in SOP revisions in coordination with supervisor and Quality AssuranceSPECIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Other duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
      • Associate or B.S. degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or similar field
      • 1+ years of relevant industry experience in R&D, product development, or operations
      • Experience with aseptic technique, BSL 2/2.5 environment, cell culture, and molecular biology (desired)
      • Excellent computer, verbal, and written communication skills
      • High level of organization; detail oriented

        • Frequently required to work in a BSL 2 environment with personal protective equipment/aseptic gowning
        • Regularly required to work around large machinery and typical utilities seen in pharmaceutical facilities

        • Occasionally exposed to extremely loud noise levels
        • Spending time on the floor during activity execution (maintenance, construction, commissioning and qualification) is requiredMovement
