In addition to operating the turbines and propulsionequipment that keep the ship moving, youll also develop broad knowledge of fuel systems,steam systems and other systems related to propulsion.MACHINISTS MATENavy ships are constantly crossing the ocean, traveling hundreds of thousands of miles to theshores of every continent on Earth. As a Machinists Mate, you help ensure your ship arrivessafely. Whether youre repairing a steam turbine or adjusting an aircraft elevator, you can expectto gain thorough working knowledge of all things mechanical on ships like cruisers anddestroyers.ENGINEERING AIDEEngineering Aides directly assist Construction Engineers in developing final construction plans.They are responsible for performing the pre-construction prep work from blueprint planning toland surveying that helps ensure the success of the project.DAMAGE CONTROLMANDamage Controlmen are the first responders who are critical to preventing accidents. Trained infirefighting, ship stability and chemical, radiological and biological warfare defense, these Sailorsare masters of it all.
