Job Description:
Role description:The Inbound freight coordinate is responsible
for vendor management, freight rate negotiations, purchase orders
and rate management in SAP. They will also work to provide freight
dispute resolutions. -Responsibilities:Ensure the execution of key
internal controls within the area of responsibilityBe the internal
and external main point of contact for anything related to inbound
freightSupport plants and vendors with inventory management,
forecasting and planningManage carrier relationships (trucking and
railroad companies), lead yearly negotiations with carriers, spot
opportunities in the market to resolve disputesManage day to day
tasks such as PO creation, monthly rates and fuel updates,
demurrage and dispute managementProcess invoices in SAP and
approve, EDI process management and updatesManage freight budget
versus monthly PPV, identify corrective actionsDemonstrate
commitment to the Ardagh core values and policies and procedures.
Establish a working environment that promotes the importance of
employees acting with integrity and in an ethical manner. -Minimum
skills / qualifications: Background in logistics/manufacturing.
Truck and rail shipment scheduling for just-in-time manufacturing
facilitiesEffective communication and support decision making in a
fast paced and challenging shipping environmentMust be familiar
with concepts such as shipping lead time, demurrage, bottom drop
trailer, fuel surcharge indexProficient in Excel; knowledge of
transportation KPIsUse of SAP (preferred) or other enterprise
resource planning tool -Preferred skills / qualifications:
Experience with bulk transportation (grain, coal, sand or any other
bulk commodity) -Experience working for one of the US
RailroadsExperience with freight tendering toolsAbout Ardagh
