Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify, prospect, and establish new customers within a large territory
  • Establish new and grow existing distribution partnerships in order to sell account-based services (HSA's, FSA, HRA and COBRA)
  • Build solid relationships with key distribution partners including PEOs (Professional Employer Organization), Retirement Partners (401k providers), Payers (insurance company), GPO's (Group Purchasing Organizations), TPA's (Third Party Administrators) and Benefit Administration providers, to maximize product sales and portfolio balance
  • Build strategic partnerships
  • Meet annual sales goals, sales activity targets, developing sales plans and calling strategies, conducting / participating in sales presentations and conferences creating an awareness of Optum Financial Services' products and services
  • Develop new relationships within distribution networks to mine new Employer referrals
  • Maintain an ongoing relationship with distribution partners to encourage new business referrals and to support partners with technical assistance
  • Own / lead sales process and client engagement through the sale, coordinating with all necessary parties (ex. legal, pricing, finance, RFP etc.) to close a sale

    • 5+ years of sales development experience, business development experience, or a combination of both
    • Experience calling on distribution partner such as PEOs (Professional Employer Organization) Retirement Partners (401k providers), Payers (insurance companies), GPO's (Group Purchasing Organization), Third Party Administrators and/or Benefit Administration providers
    • Sales and marketing experience including growing a business or portfolio of clients/distribution partners within the health insurance/financial services industry
    • Experience to effectively message, position and present information for client impact and influence
    • Experience in negotiation, influencing, collaboration, and listening skills
    • Familiarity with CDH programs (HSA/HRA/FSA); Wellness programs; COBRA; Investments
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM (ex. Salesforce)
    • Proven ability to operate and effectively navigate in a highly complex environment with a high level of collaboration
    • Demonstrated analytical thinking, with an attention to detail and high-quality standards
    • Ability to travel frequently

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's Degree
      • Proven excellent written and presentation skills

        California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $70,000 to $140,000 per year. Role is also eligible to receive bonuses based on sales performance. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
