Job Description:
Job Summary:To assist in managing the control, environmental
monitoring (EM), and building automation systems (BAS), as well as,
conduct the performance of corrective, preventive and predictive
maintenance for Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Systems,
Refrigerator/Freezer Systems, Fume Hoods, Environmental Monitoring
and Control Systems.Duties and Responsibilities:Controls
Systems
- Perform all aspects of corrective, preventive, and predictive
maintenance and provide recommended solutions to all controls
systems including fire, security, BAS, and EM
- Assist in the management of the BAS and EM systems
- Assist in project management for BAS and EM systems
- Document and report recommended improvements to BAS, EM and
HVAC systemsEquipment Maintenance
- Perform all aspects of corrective, preventive, and predictive
maintenance and provide recommended solutions to all systems
related equipment such as: Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning
Systems, Refrigerator/Freezer Systems, Fume Hoods and Refrigerated
Laboratory Equipment
- Perform installation and calibration of sensors/probes and
control systems hardware
- Assist in managing and coordinating vendors for execution of
contracted maintenanceGeneral
- Coaches and advises less experienced staff to improve their
skills and knowledge
- Share knowledge with co-workers and supervision for cross
training efforts
- Interact professionally with facility staff as well as
customers
- Provide oral and written communications to internal and
external customers
- Maintain all work related licenses, certifications and all
other training requirements
- Execute timely completion of planned and scheduled work on
multiple assignments
- Maintains all required documentation
- Provide metrics as requested
- Other related duties as assignedEducation/Qualifications:
- College or trade school courses in HVAC, controls systems, or
mechanical operation
- CFC Universal LicenseExperience:
- 7+ years of experience working with industrial facility related
systems
- 4+ years of experience working with controls systems
- Ability to use MS Office, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint at an
intermediate level
- Ability to operate within a CMMSWorking Conditions and Special
Factors
- Must be able to work in animal room environments
- Exposure to external temperature and weather extremes on
occasion
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs
- Overtime, weekend, and on call work as required
- Mandatory immunizations and screening as required
- May work with potentially hazardous substances
- Climbing ladders and working in confined spaces may be
necessary
- Exposure to greases, oil, solvents, additives, and live steam
