Job Description:
*Description:*
This Client is in need of a Cloud Architect to add to their Cloud
Center of Excellence (COE). They are continuing with their cloud
transformation so this architect will be heavily involved with the
strategy, planning, road-mapping, and implementation around their
cloud journey and optimization. This client has made the decision
to leverage Azure for 90% of their environment with the remaining
10% sitting with AWS.
*Job Summary:*
Responsible for defining IT Cloud architecture to enable current
and future business capabilities. This role participates as a
top-level expert in the enterprise providing direction and leading
multiple efforts, or a single large effort in analysis, design,
scope, and approach of a Cloud solution. The Enterprise Cloud
Architect is charged with improving the consistency, timeliness,
quality, security and delivery of IT Cloud services. This role will
have primary focus on the Azure and AWS Cloud environments.
*Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:*
Lead the planning and execution of this client's Cloud first
strategy
Lead the strategic direction for this client's future direction for
the usage of cloud services
Lead the definition of Standards, Policies and Procedures and best
practices for the usage of cloud-based services and
infrastructure
Ability to understand and manage to budget as well as assist in
annual budget exercise
Identify solutions that represent opportunities to leverage cloud
services and architectures by evaluating quality attributes,
technology risk, capacity variability, and other factors where a
cloud native architecture solution can add benefit to the overall
solution.
Develop overall Cloud Roadmap and Technology Platforms
Develop Cloud COE principles, bets practices and Governance
framework
Identifying the best technical solutions that can be rolled out
efficiently and, in a cost-effective manner
Lead and advise teams building solutions on cloud platforms
including design, planning, management, maintenance and assessing
systems for potential weaknesses or issues.
Collaborate across organizational functions to identify
communications, change management and training needs driven by the
adoption of cloud technologies
Facilitate technical and design discussions with IT executives to
help the enterprise improve outcomes thru new cloud technologies
and practices
Lead the evaluation of technology choices (network, compute,
storage, and other service enabled capabilities) through the larger
cloud team and collaboration with other part of the enterprise.
Ensures appropriate operational procedures, processes and tools are
in place and appropriately managed.
Understand the financial impacts of cloud based architectural
decisions and lead cloud cost management solutions, forecasting and
proactive cloud management practices.
Effectively communicates across the enterprise cloud expenses and
opportunities to manage cost
*Required Education and/or Certifications*
Bachelor's Degree
Recommended Education and/or Certifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Math, Information Systems or
a related technical field.
Required Work Experience
5 or more years of experience as an enterprise Cloud architect role
acting as an individual contributor or leading a team in the design
and implementation of IT Cloud architecture with primary experience
in the Azure Cloud environment
10 or more years work experience in IT Cloud or related experience
can be substituted in lieu of a degree in addition to the minimum
years of work experience required.
Experience in Modeling, Tradeoff Analysis, Roadmaps, Architecture
Documents
Recommended:
Demonstrated experience/knowledge of Financial Services products
and processes (Life Insurance, Annuities, Investments, and
Financial Advice)
Demonstrated strategic thinker, plans IT Cloud architecture by
studying the business/product strategy and target audience,
envisioning architectural scheme and end user compute.
Develop and deliver Cloud strategy and architecture artifacts;
verify alignment of Cloud development to architectural design.
Demonstrated experience in leadership, mentorship, managing
stakeholders & collaboration with architectural partners
*Skills:*
Azure, IaaS, CI/CD, Infrastructure, Applications, migrations, PaaS,
SaaS, scripting, Terraform
