Fabrication Lead

Kokomo, IN

$50k - $55k +

Mon-Friday 7:30am-4pm

Aegis Worldwide is partnered with a manufacturer in Kokomo, IN and we are looking for candidates that have 4+ years of previous fabrication, blueprint reading, and extensive knowledge of welding, fitting and managing 10+ employees.

Responsibilities:

Set up and operate plate rolling machines to form cylindrical components from steel plate according to required specifications and tolerances.


Accurately fit and assemble steel components such as rolled cylinders, tank heads, nozzles, and manways, ensuring proper joint preparation and adherence to shop drawings with minimal supervision.


Operate and train others on various fabrication equipment including MIG welders, TIG welders, submerged arc welders, brake presses, and band saws.


Provide hands-on training to new team members on all standard fabrication machinery and processes.


Interpret technical blueprints and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles to ensure finished components meet design specifications.


Perform manual flat-pattern layout work when required, with a strong understanding of CNC processes and occasional need for manual layouts.


Maintain strict adherence to all equipment safety protocols and company safety policies.


Manage workloads efficiently by planning and prioritizing tasks to meet production timelines and monitor labor hours against project schedules.


Willing to work overtime as needed and occasionally travel for job-related tasks or training.



Qualifications:

HS Diploma or general equivalency (GED) required.
4 + years previous applicable experience preferred.
Extensive knowledge of welding, fitting and managing 10+ employees.
Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and schematics.
