Job Description:

MBS is hiring a Quality Engineer II in Cincinnati, OH. This position is a full-time direct hire opportunity. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data. Work Independently in establishing programs to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities. Work independently in the development and implementation of methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material, and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility. Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality & reliability. Should be pro-actively involved and initiate activity in the improvement process and promote its use within the facility. Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities. Actively participates and lead continuous improvement and 5S activities. Must be fluent in systems such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA’s and QS9000/TS16949 requirements. Automotive background would be a plus. Must possess a proficient working knowledge of SPC and MSA. While performing the duties of this job, the team member occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university in a related field; and generally, 4-8 years of related experience and/or training. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, vendors, and the public. Ability to understand and apply basic geometric dimensioning and tolerance. Ability to apply advanced statistical techniques such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Must be able to function in a team environment and/or lead a team by working with and cooperating with others. Must possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to clearly communicate in both written and oral forms with others. Must be familiar with DOE and well versed with methodical problem-solving processes, as well as the 7 tools of quality. Must have the ability to apply these tools to be able to solve complex manufacturing problems. Strong analytical problem-solving skills are required. Specific vision abilities required by this job to perform mechanical inspections include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, close vision, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment varies from moderate to loud. Hearing protection will be provided in required areas. Safety glasses and steel-toed safety shoes must be worn in all areas while on manufacturing floor. Team member may be required to wear additional safety equipment in other areas, which may require medical certification.
