Corporate HSE provides leadership, direction, and oversight of
global HSE programs. These responsibilities include continuous
improvement of compliance and risk management systems, ownership
HSE auditing programs for internal and external partners,
leadership of HSE-related business development processes,
monitoring HSE performance, establishing and executing new site
integration strategies, ownership of enterprise HSE processes and
systems, and monitoring the external environment trends and best
practices. Additional position requirements include supervision of
the Global HSE staff, management of the Global HSE annual business
plan / strategic plan, and leadership of corporate governance
teams. Key Objectives/Deliverables Global HSE Standards: Maintain
the Global HSE Standards and ensure appropriate technical expertise
to support the implementation of the standards. Oversee the Global
HSE auditing function (internal and external) in alignment with
Lilly global auditing practices. Lead assessment of HSE-related
aspects for corporate business development initiatives (e.g.,
mergers, acquisitions, divestitures). Drives integration of Lilly
standards into new sites and business areas. Global HSE Programs
and Aspects: Promote HSE in business continuity and emergency
management processes. Oversee the facilitation of the Corporate
Incidence Support Team. Identify enterprise wide HSE aspects and
implement programs to properly manage the significant aspects and
facilitate Global HSE governance. Develop and lead implementation
of the enterprise HSE IT system strategy Oversee the coordination
of HSE considerations across the value chain and between divisions
to ensure the implementation of a comprehensive global HSE
management system. Provide oversight of the due diligence and
external partner programs. Identify and implement opportunities for
continuous improvement HSE Performance and Goals: Establish
Corporate HSE goals and track performance. Drive progress on goals,
including alignment on centrally driven initiatives and integration
into business processes. Report on HSE performance to senior Lilly
management and external stakeholders. External Focus: Provide an
external view of stakeholder expectations, industry trends, best
practices, and emerging issues that are relevant to the enterprise.
Lead benchmarking efforts and manage professional and trade
association memberships. Oversee HSE-related regulatory monitoring
strategies and influence leadership where action is required.

capable of providing functional leadership and technical expertise
to implement the Global HSE management system. Develop Global HSE
staff, provide direction and coaching, and feedback, and manage
performance through the Lilly performance management process.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree or greater in Occupational
Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering or a related technical
field. Ten years of HSE, engineering or operations related
experience Ten years of leadership experience Additional
Preferences: Experience with practical application of HSE
management systems. Strong organizational and analytical skills to
manage the business and react to changes in performance or external
factors. Experience and awareness of manufacturing operations,
including external manufacturing. Demonstrated ability to work
across functions and influence upward. Leadership and team building
skills. Ability to create effective messages for all levels of the
organization Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree or greater
in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering or a
related technical field. Other Information: Position will require
primary work location in Indianapolis with occasional domestic and

on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic
location. The anticipated wage for this position is $156,000 -
$228,800 Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a
company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual
performance). In addition, Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit
