  • IU Methodist's A5East is a progressive care unit that focuses on the close monitoring of patients with cardiovascular diagnoses including congestive heart failure, post- myocardial infarction, pulmonary hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, congenital heart defects, and infective endocarditis along with a multitude of other co-morbidities.. We care for patient post-cath lab procedures, prior to LVAD placements or heart/lung transplants and pre- valve replace
    • Job Requirements
    • Skillset Requirements: Cardiac PCU, Drips, Post Cath Lab, IV Starts, and Sheath Pulls
    • Skillset Preferences: Conscious Sedation and Telemetry, 2 years of nursing experience required.
    • Floating Requirements: Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed at both University and Methodist Hospitals

      • Shift Requirements: 4x12 or 3x12
      • MUST BE FLEXIBLE WITH WEEKEND REQUIREMENTS, WEEKEND REQUIREMENT WILL BE BASED ON UNIT NEEDS. TRAVELERS MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 50% OF THE WEEKENDS IN THEIR CONTRACT.
      • Call-Ins: If a traveler call-ins for a contracted shift, the traveler is expected to make up the day during the pay period, if a 0.9 FTE. OR if a 0.9 FTE and unable to make up during the pay period, then the shift will be added at the end of the traveler contract. If a 1.2 FTE, any call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract

        • IU Health is now offering charge pay, which is a $3.00 bill rate bump per hour
