active pharmaceutical ingredient and dry products network is
responsible for a rapidly growing global network of manufacturing
sites that support the expanding portfolio of Lilly’s parenteral
(injectable) products and devices. Position Overview: The Sr.
Director – Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) and Dry Products
Network Operations is a pivotal leadership role, charged with
ensuring that our manufacturing network aligns with and executes on
major strategic objectives while enhancing overall operational
efficiency. With broad responsibility across multiple sites and
geographies, this role offers significant exposure to both
site-specific and global manufacturing and quality leadership. You
will drive continuous improvement, build cross-functional
partnerships, and help ensure that our network can meet the growing
demands of our business and the patients we serve. Key
Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership & Cross-Functional
Integration: Lead the integration of functions and foster
cross-functional collaboration to drive outcomes. Identify
strategic opportunities and translate them into actionable,
measurable execution plans. Operate within the Team Lilly framework
to promote a unified approach across functions and sites. Lead
major strategic initiatives and ensure alignment with overall
business objectives. Operational Excellence & Process Improvement:
Drive and oversee key strategic initiatives across the global API
and Dry Products network, identifying capability gaps and
improvement opportunities. Provide oversight of project execution,
ensuring milestones are met, and barriers are proactively
addressed. Facilitate operational process improvements, best
practice sharing, and cost efficiencies across sites. Ensure
adherence to safety, quality, agility, and execution standards,
driving results across the manufacturing network. Project
Management & Execution: Lead, manage, and prioritize special
projects, ensuring alignment and execution across the team.
Maintain strong governance and ensure the successful completion of
projects through structured meetings, actionable follow-ups, and
clear timelines. Use data analytics to make informed decisions that
drive business performance and enhance customer service. Effective
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: Foster connectivity between
sites, functions, and leadership teams to align on strategic goals.
Drive transparency in decision-making and communicate modifications
related to scope, time, budget, and risk to key stakeholders. Act
as a strategic liaison to ensure alignment on business priorities
and initiatives across diverse teams. Basic Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 8 years in manufacturing, with experience in
Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (large molecule, small molecule)
manufacturing highly preferred. Key Requirements: Leadership:
Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams to achieve
objectives and improve processes. Proven ability to influence and
lead teams, both with and without direct authority. Project
Management: Strong project management skills, with the ability to
manage multiple high-priority initiatives. Strategic Thinking:
Ability to identify and execute on strategic opportunities in a
dynamic, global environment. Communication: Excellent communication
skills with the ability to facilitate collaboration and make
complex ideas accessible to diverse teams. Additional
Skills/Preferences: Proven ability to deliver operational
excellence and solve complex problems. Strong business acumen with
a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly
within Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (large molecule, small
molecule) manufacturing. Ability to thrive in ambiguous
environments and deliver results under pressure. Cross-cultural
awareness and experience working in global, cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate team decision-making and foster
a collaborative, inclusive environment. Travel: Travel Percentage:
25-30% This role requires regular travel to multiple sites and

on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic
location. The anticipated wage for this position is $145,500 -
$213,400 Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a
company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual
performance). In addition, Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit
program to eligible employees, including eligibility to participate
in a company-sponsored 401(k); pension; vacation benefits;
eligibility for medical, dental, vision and prescription drug
