Competitive Salary Bonus Full Benefits On-Site Walton, KY (Relocation Assistance Available) Job Details On-Site Walton, KY (Relocation Assistance Available) We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Director of Engineering to lead our engineering team at a leading aseptic, hot fill, and cold fill processing company specializing in syrups and sauces. This role is responsible for overseeing all engineering functions, including capital project execution, process improvements, equipment reliability, and facility infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in food and beverage processing, a strong background in project management, and the ability to drive continuous improvement across multiple packaging formats, including bottles, cans, and pouches. Core Responsibilities: Lead and manage the engineering department, including maintenance, process engineering, and capital project teams. Develop and execute capital projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives, budgets, and timelines. Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, product quality, and sustainability in aseptic, hot fill, and cold fill operations. Oversee installation, commissioning, and validation of new equipment and production lines. Ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory, and environmental standards (FDA, OSHA, EPA, and other governing bodies). Collaborate with operations, quality, and R&D teams to support new product introductions and line modifications. Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment failures and process inefficiencies. Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for equipment, services, and infrastructure projects. Mentor and develop engineering staff, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability Requirements Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field) 10 years of experience in food and beverage manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior engineering leadership role. Strong hands-on experience in capital project execution, including scope development, budgeting, and implementation. Understanding of aseptic, hot fill, and cold fill processing technologies. Understanding of plant utility systems: air, steam, water, ammonia refrigeration, and wastewater Expertise in automated production systems, PLCs, and high-speed packaging equipment. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, and industry best practices. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to drive efficiency improvements and cost savings in a manufacturing environment. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
